Tiny House @ School: Combining Meaningful Education and Housing Shortage in a Project
Students from the vocational school at Pius X-College in Bladel are collaboratively building a Tiny House, which will actually be inhabited through the housing association. Under the guidance of experienced professionals and teachers, they are working on this unique project, where they not only develop technical skills but also important competencies such as teamwork, planning, and problem-solving.

This project offers students a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience and develop their talents. Together with regional companies and mentors, they build the house from A to Z. Through this, they not only acquire good work skills but also technical skills. Many craft professions are involved in building the house: carpenter, installer, electrician, tiler, upholsterer, painter, glazier, interior stylist, etc. This allows students to truly understand what a profession entails and make better choices for their further education.
The house is being built sustainably. Once the house is completed, it will be moved to a location in the region and will actually be inhabited.

Cooperative Impact Award
The project has received financial support from Rabobank. Additionally, this Tiny House @ School project won one of the three national Cooperative Impact Awards from Rabobank. Besides a physical award, the winners received a financial contribution of €12,500 to make even more impact. For the Tiny House @ School project, this prize is a confirmation that they are making a significant contribution to sustainability and educating the next generation.
