His board term will be extended for two months until September 1, subject to regulatory approval. The appointment of Els Kamphof is subject to regulatory assessment and the advice of the Works Council Rabobank.

Els Kamphof is now Regional Head, Europe and Africa at Rabobank. She has held that position since early 2021. In previous years she was responsible for Wholesale Banking, Netherlands and Africa and for Wholesale Banking, Australia and New Zealand.

Els studied Econometrics at the University of Groningen. She began her career in 1992 as a trainee Investment Banking & Global Clients at ABN AMRO. After more than 13 years at ABN AMRO in various positions, she switched to Rabobank in early 2006. Els: “Joining the Managing Board of Rabobank is an exciting step and I feel very honoured to do so. I strongly believe in the role and positive impact of Rabobank in the food and energy system transitions, and I am looking forward to working together with all the teams to support our clients in their ambitions. I would like to thank Berry for his enormous contribution to Wholesale & Rural for so many years.”

Stefaan Decraene, chair of Rabobank's Managing Board, is very pleased with Els Kamphof's appointment: "Els brings lots of experience to the table. She has worked for the bank in the international domain for many years, joining forces with our clients. I am very much looking forward to work with her."

The Supervisory Board is also very pleased with Els Kamphof's appointment. Marjan Trompetter, chair of the Supervisory Board: "Besides the experience and qualities that Els brings, it is also important that a Rabobank talent is to succeed Berry. We wish her a lot of success in the coming years."

Berry Marttin, who will step down as a Managing Board member on September, 1 2023, is Rabobank's longest-serving board member. Marttin joined Rabobank as a management trainee after earning a degree in business administration in Brazil. During his career at Rabobank, he gained extensive experience as a banker in the Wholesale, Rural and Retail banking segments. From 2004 to 2009, he was chairman of the board of Rabobank Amsterdam. Since 2009, he has been a member of the Managing Board, responsible for, amongst others, Rural Banking and DLL. In 2021, he also became responsible for the Wholesale Banking portfolio. Berry Marttin: “I am proud of the strategic and strong positioning of our international Wholesale, Rural and leasing activities and our leading role as F&A bank globally. I have really enjoyed my 14 years in the Managing Board of Rabobank. And I wish Els a lot of success in her new role.” Berry will transfer his other board positions on behalf of Rabobank before the end of 2023.

Marjan Trompetter: “The Supervisory Board thanks Berry for the more than 14 years he has spent as Managing Board member at Rabobank. He shaped his work in an inspiring way with great commitment to Rabobank's mission. He has not only managed Rural, and in recent years also Wholesale, but has been responsible for DLL and Rabo Partnerships (and previously Rabobank Foundation). With his vision and commitment, Berry has successfully led all these business units.”

Stefaan Decraene: "Berry has made a hugely important contribution to our bank over the years. He has built a unique international network in the world of Food & Agri, which is of enormous value to Rabobank. I salute him for being such a knowledgeable and valued member of Rabobank’s Board for so many years and would like to thank him for all his great work.”
