The General Members' Council of Rabobank has appointed Driek Desmet as a member of the Supervisory Board as of April 9, 2025.
Driek Desmet obtained an MSc in Material Science and Metallurgy from the University of Leuven and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College. He began his career at Procter & Gamble and later worked at McKinsey, where he was Managing Partner of both the Digital Lab Asia and the Business Technology Office Asia. As a Senior Partner, he expanded his expertise in technical and digital innovation and transformation projects. In doing so, he gained significant experience in different geographies and industries, with a strong focus on the financial sector. Since 2019, he has held various supervisory positions.
Marjan Trompetter, Chair of the Supervisory Board (SB), is convinced that the appointment of Driek Desmet secures an important area of expertise within the SB. The additional value he brings is important, given the growing need for knowledge and experience in technology, data, innovation, and AI. This need stems from the rapid developments in these fields and the associated opportunities and risks for the bank.
Trompetter: “Driek has had a long professional career as a senior partner and supervisor. His expertise and affinity with IT, digitization, and innovation, as well as his extensive knowledge and experience in transformations, banking, and broad financial services, make him a welcome addition to the SB.”
The SB of Rabobank further consists of Marjan Trompetter (Chair), Johan van Hall (Vice-Chair), Sandra Berendsen, Miriam van Dongen, Matthew Elderfield, Gail Klintworth, and Mark Pensaert.
