We are a bank without shareholders, but with members. More than 2,3 million of our customers are already members. We like to think of them as our ears and eyes. They mean so much to us because they tell us what’s going on and what people’s concerns are . Their input helps us know where we should invest our knowledge, time, and money. How we know what's happening
We believe that every voice counts. That’s why we are in touch with our almost 9 million customers every day. We have special teams who can help people with financial worries and mobile teams who can help the elderly with their banking business. We even have our own Dialogue Expertise Center which talks with thousands of people about financial and societal themes throughout the entire year.

The voice of our member councils
Every local Rabobank has its own Member Council. Combined, the Member Councils are the heart of our cooperative—an essential link between the members and our bank. The Member Councils are our sounding board, our ambassadors, and our sparring partners.
We also have youth councils. Our Member Councils determine what we will invest our cooperative dividend on—that is, the part of our profits that we invest back into Dutch society each year. In this way, our members really make a difference in their communities. In 2023, we were able to offer all communities an extra sustainability contribution. Local Member Councils played a crucial role in that process as well.
We make an impact together
Positive results in 2023 have enabled Rabobank to offer more to society. In 2023, Rabobank made EUR 400 million available for our customers, members, partners and employees to help achieve the transition to a more sustainable future. EUR 360 million has been reserved for five extra cooperative sustainability initiatives, each of which addresses different challenges and needs. The other EUR 40 million will go into our bank’s cooperative dividend and be ploughed back into Dutch society.
Cooperative dividend
Our bank has members, not shareholders. And our members help decide how we allocate what we call our “cooperative dividend”—the part of our profits that we invest back into society. In 2023, more than EUR 40 million of our cooperative dividend was spent on projects and initiatives in local communities, Rabo ClubSupport and the Rabo Foundation. This is one way we are improving livability in your neighborhood.
Our cooperative initiatives
Cooperative Insulation Budget
Having more sustainable homes helps make the world a better place. So in March 2024, Rabobank started the Cooperative Insulation Budget. Customers who have a mortgage with us and a home that has a “G” or “F” energy label are eligible for a free energy consultation and EUR 1,000 to insulate their homes. Mortgage customers can still apply for this initiative.
